Issue:
At the beginning of 2025, the manufacturer discovered similar fatigue-induced dark cracks, each approximately 10 mm long, on the near-inlet side of every blade in the first-stage impeller.
On-site condition:
Blade surface shows hidden cracks, and the IGV damage is severe.
Maintenance plan:
Perform repair and reassembly of the impeller, replace all sealing components at each stage with new parts, adjust the H-value, clean and inspect all spare parts before reassembling; also repair the IGV, calibrate the positioner, and conduct manual tests to ensure proper functionality.
Result:
1. The vibration levels of the first, second and third stages are normal, all below 5 micrometers, which is in good condition. 2. The bearing temperature of each stage is less than 66°C, within the normal range. 3. The oil temperature is below 45°C, which
