Issue:

In the 4 months since the unit started operation, vibration levels have been steadily increasing—from 7 μm up to 25 μm—and the nozzles have shown sticking issues.

On-site condition:

At the expansion end, there is slight friction between the impeller and the shroud, and the locating pins of the nozzle guide vanes show wear, having developed an elliptical shape.

Maintenance plan:

Replace the nozzle guide vane positioning pins, perform rotor dynamic balancing verification, and adjust the impeller clearance according to installation standards.

Result:

After repair, the rotor vibration measured 6 μm, the nozzle operated reliably and smoothly, and the unit is running normally.
